The traveler problem
India is easy after you are set up. The first few days are not.
Travelers often land with a foreign SIM, no UPI, and no Indian wallet. That makes the obvious food apps harder exactly when you are jet-lagged, in a hotel, and just want dinner.
No local SIM yet
Food apps in India often revolve around phone verification and rider calls. Use your existing international number instead.
No UPI or Indian bank
Pay with an international credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. No Indian bank account required.
Deliver to hotels and Airbnbs
Add the hotel name, room/front-desk note, and delivery instructions so the handoff is clear.
Real local restaurants
Order restaurant meals, biryani, pizza, soups, fresh green salads, cakes, sweets, snacks, or coffee from local shops near your address.
Hotel order playbook
Make the delivery easy for the rider and the front desk.
The difference between smooth hotel delivery and back-and-forth is not the restaurant. It is the handoff detail. Put these in the order before you pay.
Hotel name and full street address
Room number or front desk instructions
Your international WhatsApp number
Any landmark or gate instructions the rider should know
Example instruction
Deliver to front desk for Alex, Room 812. Please call/WhatsApp this number if the lobby asks.
If your hotel has security at the gate, mention the gate, tower, or lobby name. If you do not want to share a room number, use “leave at reception” and watch for updates.

How it works
Four steps from hotel room to hot food
This is built for self-use. You can still send food to family, but this page is for the traveler ordering for themselves.
01
Enter your hotel, Airbnb, office, or apartment
Use a specific address, not just the city. For hotels, include the hotel name and area.
02
Choose food from nearby restaurants
Browse menus available around that exact location, including local favorites and familiar options.
03
Checkout with your international card
Use your own phone number and card. No Indian phone number, OTP, UPI, or Indian wallet required.
04
We coordinate the local delivery
FoodtoIndia places the local order and shares updates. You just need to be reachable if the delivery needs clarification.
Traveler FAQ
Questions people ask before they order
Can tourists order food delivery in India without an Indian phone number?
Yes. FoodtoIndia lets travelers order food in India with an international phone number and international card. You do not need an Indian phone number, OTP login, UPI, or an Indian bank account.
Can I order food to a hotel in India?
Yes. Enter the hotel name and address, then add room number or front desk instructions during checkout. Some hotels ask delivery partners to leave food at reception, so include the handoff you prefer.
Can I order for a friend who is in India for a business visit?
Yes. Add your friend's name and phone number as the recipient, ideally a number where they can be reached on WhatsApp. Use their hotel address as the delivery address, then pin the hotel's exact location on the map. Before delivery, we contact the recipient to confirm they are available to receive the order.
Can I use this if I am in India for work?
Yes. This page is built for business travelers, conference attendees, consultants, expats, and visitors who are in India but do not have a local SIM, UPI, or a working food-delivery app setup.
Is this a replacement for Swiggy or Zomato?
Use Swiggy or Zomato directly if they work for you. FoodtoIndia is for the gap: foreign SIM, no UPI, card issues, hotel delivery uncertainty, or the need for a human to help coordinate the local order.
What should I put in delivery instructions for a hotel?
Add the hotel name, room number if safe to share, front desk or lobby handoff preference, and a reachable WhatsApp number. If the hotel has multiple gates, add the gate or landmark.
Which cities in India does this work in?
